What is your go-to look and what products do you use to achieve it?
I usually start off with the ‘Tarte Maracuja Tinted Hydrator’ to even out my skin tone and top it off with the ‘Tarte Shape Tape’ concealer, which has amazing coverage. Next, I go in with my Smashbox contour powder and ‘Benefit Hoola Bronzer’. Highlighter is probably one of my favourite products and I usually use the cream ‘Benefit What’s Up’ highlighter. For blush, I like the ‘Benefit Benetint’ liquid blush as it gives a really pretty natural look. I don’t do a lot to my eyebrows, but usually, I just fill them in any brow pencil that matches my tone. My most important step is definitely mascara, as it makes the most difference for me personally. My holy grail mascara is definitely the ‘Benefit BADgal Bang’ mascara. Lastly, I go in with a setting spray to make sure the make-up lasts all day ‘et voilà’ that’s my go-to look. It actually only usually takes me about 5-10 minutes to do, it is very natural and easy.
You’re stranded on a desert island with only your five favourite cosmetics, what are they?
- La Roche Posay Sunscreen
First of all, sunscreen because it is so important to protect our skin from sun damage to prevent skin cancer etc. I try and wear sunscreen even in winter and usually go for either an SPF moisturiser or the La Roche Posay mattifying sunscreen, which is super gentle and oil-free.
2. Ultra-Repair First Aid Beauty Moisturiser
Moisturiser is key for me and I really love this one because it nourishes my skin, without making it oily or triggering breakouts.
3. La Roche Posay Effaclar cleanser
I started using this cleanser when I was fifteen and it got rid of my teenage acne. It is fragrance free, for sensitive skin and great if your skin is prone to breakouts.
4. Moroccan oil hair oil
Moroccan and Argan oil products are seriously my favourite when it comes to hair and keep mine shiny and healthy.
5. Benefit BADgal Bang Mascara:
Mascara is really important for me and I swear this is the best one I have ever used.
What is your skincare routine?
I usually start with taking off my makeup, with the Clinique cleansing balm. Next, I use my La Roche cleanser and then moisturize. Then I use my Pixi eye cream and Trulash serum and that’s it. Once a week or so I use a chemical exfoliant to get rid of all those dead skin cells (usually Paula’s Choice), and massage roll some serum into my skin for some extra hydration.
What is the best beauty advice anyone has given you?
Okay, so Hyram is my go-to person for skincare advice and the best thing I have learned from him is to look at product ingredients. Especially fragrance is something to look out for, which tends to be quite harmful to skin.
What was your biggest makeup faux pas?
I was honestly quite careful when it came to makeup growing up, but I did have a phase where I would use black liner on my lower lid which *not* cute.
What is a product that you have your eye on and why?
Charlotte Tilbury’s deep red lipsticks, especially her matte ones which have an amazing finish to them. I would love to have one.
