Rumours have been circulating this month about Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner potentially launching their own fashion brand. The two are always seen together and it seems that their friendship could potentially escalate into something more in the form of a business partnership.
According to multiple media outlets, Delevingne and Jenner have trademarked the name ‘CaKe’ a portmanteau of the girl’s names. They’ve been spotted on Instagram with various clothing items featuring the new logo and it’s been suggested that “the ultimate aim is for CaKe to have its own stores in the UK and US.” Apparently though, the supermodel duo only “see it as a bit of fun.”
The news is particularly of interest due to the recent reluctance of Delevingne in fashion right now. The beauty has noted she is focusing on her acting career and has picked up a roll in the upcoming 2017 sci-fi comic Valerian, following her rolls in Suicide Squad and Paper Towns.
Queen of the catwalk and now designer for Tommy Hilfiger, Gigi Hadid has also decided to follow in the footsteps of her fellow models and pursue a career in design. The collaboration comes as no surprise after the young model led the way at Tommy Hilfiger’s New York Fashion Week Spring / Summer 16 show. Gigi stated that ”I never thought I would be asked to design a capsule collection, so it still feels like a dream that Tommy approached me to collaborate” and commenting on the collection’s versatility, the model gushed “everyone’s is going to love a different part of it!”
Neither of the three starlets are strangers to the industry, in fact all three have graced the elusive Victoria Secret catwalk and gained notoriety as this generation’s it supermodels on social media. Kendall is currently representing Estée Lauder, Cara was recently the face of Burberry’s new perfume and Hadid made her British Vogue debut cover for this month’s issue.
While ‘Tommy Girl’ Gigi has a collection definitely confirmed for release this year, it is still speculation about Delevingne and Jenner’s collection. Nonetheless, the CaKe duo were seen wearing their friendship logo on black tees back in June at a Taylor Swift concert, and sources are adamant they have more t-shirt designs ready to be released. Let’s hope so as I can’t wait to get my hands on one!
