Easy French-kiss Toast

This is a sweet breakfast you’ll want to wake up for!

Serves: 2 | Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 8 minutes

Ingredients

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons milk

3 medium eggs

A pinch of salt

A knob of butter

4 thick slices of bread (I like using wholemeal bread)

Method

  1. In a medium sized bowl, add the honey, milk and salt. Then crack the eggs into the mixture and stir well to combine.
  2. Next coat both sides of the bread slices in the mixture and leave each slice to soak for about 25 seconds.
  3. Melt a knob of butter in a frying pan over a medium heat. Then cook the soaked bread for 2 minutes on each side.
  4. French-kiss toast is arguably best enjoyed with some maple syrup, fresh fruits and perhaps a kiss or two from a loved one…

Sexy Steak & Fries

Instead of going out for a romantic meal, why not impress your love by cooking up this mouth-watering dish at home?

Serves: 2| Prep time: 25 minutes | Oven time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

2 sirloin steaks

250g parsnips, peeled

4 tablespoons butter

salt and pepper

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  2. Grind the pepper and salt over the steaks and leave to marinate.
  3. Slice the parsnips into thin fries, melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a roasting tin and toss the fries in with a dash of pepper and salt.
  4. Depending on the size of your fries they should cook between 15-20 minutes. Remember to flip the fries over midway through cooking. The fries are perfect when golden brown!
  5. Just before the fries are done, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in a frying pan over a high heat. Then cook the steaks for 2 minutes on each side (for a rare steak). Remove the fries from the oven and dish up your meal. Bon appétit!

2-ingredient Naughty Nutella Brownies

Nutella is possibly the yummiest spread mankind has ever created. Well I think so anyway… I’m one of those weird people who can happily stick a spoon into a tub and snack away. Here’s a less weird, utterly heavenly and gluten free way to enjoy Nutella!

Serves: 9 slices | Prep time: 25 minutes | Bake time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

4 large eggs

295g Nutella

Equipment

8×8 baking dish

baking paper

non stick spray

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C.
  2. Line the baking dish with baking paper, ensuring the ends hang over the edge of the dish like flaps. Spray the paper and sides of the dish with the non stick spray.
  3. Crack all the eggs into a large bowl. To mix the eggs use an electric mixer, start on a low setting and gradually increase to high. Whisk the eggs until they are light and fluffy (approximately 6-8 minutes).
  4. Next, warm up the Nutella in microwaveable bowl. Heat the Nutella in the microwave for 1 minute, stopping every 15 seconds to stir. When it is correctly warmed it looks creamy.
  5. Now its time to combine the eggs and Nutella. Make sure to use the low setting for the electric mixer and to only drop in spoonfuls of Nutella at a time. Mix until the mixture is thoroughly combined.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before cutting it up. You must resist nomming it!
