Rugby 7s tournament on Friday 21st June

We have the drink, the music, the cracking food, we have everything. We have the mates hugging, we have the mates kissing. At the end of the day there aren’t many games in which you would be willing to break a limb for a mate, there aren’t many games were you could punch your mate in the face and still be mates, this game is Rugby.

And Lancaster Rugby Union Football Club invites you to come and be our mate, even if it’s just for the day. But ideally we would like it to be for a life time. Last year was a fantastic day, and our well renowned Chairman Arthur Haynes from the popular Ron and Arthur Show at Bailrigg fm on Saturday at 1pm (shameless plug), has gone to great efforts to make it even more fantastic. I know what you’re thinking; Arthur Haynes is involved and it sounds really fun and you want to make more mates. So the only question left is, how do I get involved? And that my friend, is a very good question.

If you’re looking to play, all you need to do is get together a squad of 10-13 playas, fill in the sign-up sheet (accessible by messaging the host, the sensational Arthur Haynes) and he will get right back to you, for further details check out are event on Facebook entitled ‘Rugby Summer 7’s Sensation’ which will give you all the rules and regulations on team entry. Entry for team only cost ten pounds, which is an absolute steal when there is a potential cash prize up for grabs. I really see no reason why you wouldn’t want to the completed sheet… dead easy!!
Registration will be happening at 10:30 sharp where we will be collecting a £10 for entry for each team, so make sure you’re down on the pitches in front of the Sports Centre for then!come down and play, unless you absolutely detest the sport of rugby, which is a fair enough reason.

However, you don’t just have to play to enjoy yourself, popular opinion suggests you will have a better time enjoying some smashing tunes, quality drinks and delicious food as well as taking advantage of all the brilliant entertainment. So I urge to come on down between 10.30 am (Registration time) and 6pm on Friday 21st June and we will all have a blast.

In parting I leave you with the following quote, aimed to inspire and draw out the true rugby player in you, ‘And you, good yeoman, whose limbs were made in England, show us here the mettle of your pasture; let us swear that you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not; for there is none of you so mean and base, that hath not noble lustre in your eyes. I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips, straining upon the start. The game’s afoot: Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry ‘God for Harry, England, and Saint George!’ And remember the Shakespeare works wonders with the ladies.
