The Spine Editor is responsible for the design, direction and content of Spine, SCAN’s online-exclusive section. The role provides the successful applicant the chance to put their own mark on a relatively new section, to provide entertaining content which appeals to the readership of SCAN’s website.
The role will also require you to:
- Monitor web traffic and adjust content accordingly.
- Assist in the promotion of Spine, both in the printed edition and in social media.
- Produce weekly, more light-hearted articles online, similar to successful websites such as Buzzfeed, that reflect items of discussion at the University or major events going on in Lancaster.
Applicants should be creative, enthusiastic and have excellent administrative skills. Experience with online journalism, websites or blogs is preferable but not essential.
