Sugar Announces that They Will Be Open Every Saturday in First Term

Loading

Lancaster Student Union’s Club has been mostly closed on Saturdays since pre-COVID, but Sugar has announced that they will be holding ‘Social Saturdays’ every Saturday of Term 1. The concept behind ‘Social Saturdays’ is that societies will help plan out an event that suits the desires of their members.

Societies can pick out the theme, decor, and music style while working with Sugar to create the event their members will want. Even though there will be a society, the main club room will be open as usual, and anyone is allowed to attend.

The tickets will be available to buy online, which is cheaper than purchasing them at the door. The society that does the takeover each week can help sell tickets and promote the event. You will earn £1 per ticket sold, meaning societies have the opportunity to make up to £400 for their society!

Society members will get perks when certain ticket sale goals are reached:

50 tickets sold – free entry for society exec

100 tickets sold – 25 shots to share

200 tickets sold – 50 shots to share

300 tickets sold – 50 drinks to share

400 tickets sold – 50 drinks to share and 20 free entry tickets

All societies will be given information for how to apply during Freshers’ week, though Sugar are happy to begin discussions prior to this date. However, remember if the date you have chosen is popular, you may be required to submit a more formal proposal.
