Do you often find yourself wishing that clothes today could be like they were in the 1940’s, or wishing you were born just a few years earlier so that you too could have enjoyed the diverse delights of British music and fashion in the 80’s? Or perhaps gazing at the glossy pages of a magazine, wondering where on earth Daisy Lowe got that gorgeous vintage dress from? Well, stylish citizens of Lancaster, your prayers have been answered!
This Saturday (26th May), The Royal Kings Arms Hotel in Lancaster plays host to Judy’s Vintage Fair – the UK’s most affordable vintage fair and the secret behind the enviable style of celebrities such as Chloe Sevigny, Florence Welch, Pixie Lott and Daisy Lowe, all of whom have come to the fair to scout for unique pieces. Also a favourite of designer Henry Holland, and featured in top fashion magazines Elle, Grazia and Marie Claire, Judy’s brings a huge selection of retro and vintage homewares and collectables, as well as fashion and accessories for both men and women.
Judy’s first visited Lancaster in February of this year, a day that was so successful that the fair has returned, bigger and better, for what is hoped will be one of many more events. As well as providing the UK’s largest selection of affordable vintage clothes, the fair is putting on its own tea party so that even your tastebuds can drink in the atmosphere – it promises to be a wonderland for vintage lovers!
If that wasn’t enough, Judy’s is also entering the spirit of the upcoming Olympics – all the glory, none of the running! – and encourages visitors to don their prettiest tea dresses, button their waistcoats and dust off those hats, for the chance to be crowned Judy’s best-dressed guests. As well as being awarded that much-desired gold medal, winners will be awarded goody bags and have their outfits photographed for an upcoming feature in SCAN Lifestyle’s Spine Spotting.
So don’t miss out! Make sure to come and visit The Royal Kings Arms Hotel (above Waterstones on Market Street) between 12.30 and 5.30 pm this Saturday, 26th May, and be a part of Lancaster’s most exciting event of 2012!
