Badminton victory for women’s 2nds

The women’s 2nds match got off to a close start, with Lancaster’s Kwong and Cheng taking the first match 21-7 and 21-15. Lancaster took the next game however York’s Powell and Fiddy fought back at 21-16, taking it to a tense deciding game. However Yuk and Yu came back to win 22-20, giving Lancaster an overall lead of 2-0.

York’s first pairing Wilson and Gerda take their first match against Makinson and Satalak with 21-14 in both games. Yuk and Yu replied winning 21-10 and 21-17 though, making the score 3-1. Makinson and Satalak took the next games 21-8 and 21-8, and although Kwong and Cheng lost their first game to Powell and Fiddy, they came back strongly to win 21-12 and 21-17 taking the score to 5-1.

In the final set Makinson and Satalak beat York’s second pairing 21-19 in the first game, but suffered a setback losing 21-15 in the second game. However Lancaster’s duo turned it around in the final game to win the match 21-11. In the first pairing playoff, York’s Wilson and Gerda take the win against Yuk and Yu, taking the third game 21-14, making the overall score 6-2 to Lancaster. In the final game Lancaster’s Kwong and Cheng won 21-17 and 21-1, making the final score 7-2, completing a convincing victory for Lancaster’s women.
