LU Dance Society Show

Lancaster University Dance Society is performing a two day show during Week 17.

After last year’s debut performance, the Dance Society will present another show on 27th and 28th February. This event will see performers engaging in all aspects of dance, from contemporary to street and jazz. The Break Dance society will also be contributing to the show.

Originally the idea of last year’s Dance Society executive committee, this year’s show will feature around 50 dancers in over 20 different dances, ranging from ballet to tap and break dance. The choreography is entirely original and the work of members of the society.

Dance Society President Jessica Watson said: “I think I speak on behalf of the whole exec in saying that we are very excited for our show this year. It’s the highlight of the year for us all and so we really hope ‘LUDanS…In Lights’ is another sell out.”

The whole idea of the show is to give everybody within the Dance Society a chance to perform and, after performances at Winterfest 2009, it is hoped this year’s show will be a huge success.

Tickets go on sale on Monday of Week 6 in Alexandra Square and will also be available from the box office. They will cost £7 each, but students and concessions will pay just £5.
