Walnut cake

  • 100g butter
  • 100g fine sugar
  • 2 sachets of vanilla sugar (or vanilla extract + extra sugar)
  • 100g grated walnut (whole one needed for sprinkling on top)
  • 150g flour
  • 1 sachet of baking powder
  • 4 eggs


  1. Mix the butter and sugar
  2. Add the egg yolks and mix
  3. Add the nuts, baking powder and mix well
  4. Whisk the egg whites until they peak and mix them in the rest of the ingredients
  5. Then either pour the mixture into a cake tin and leave to cook for 35-40 minutes at 200 degrees or pour the mixture into 12 bun cases and cook for 12-15 minutes at 200 degrees
