Christian Fellowship’s sit in

Lancaster’s Christian Fellowship group is holding a sit-in in Alexandra Square in Week Nine to raise awareness of homelessness.

On 30th November members of the society will be gathering in the square to sit-in and run a donations stall in aid of Christ Church Night Shelter in Lancaster. The event is a follow-on from the donations stall which took place in Week Six.

“[We’re hoping] to raise awareness of the struggles faced by people living on the streets during the winter months,” said Tom Pickering, President of the Christian Fellowship.

The group would appreciate donations of hot drinks, canned food and blankets. They will be collecting spare change on the day and taking names of any students interested in volunteering with the Night Shelter.

The Night Shelter provides homeless people with food and shelter overnight between October and Easter.
